It’s March and the blooms are blooming, the sun is shining (for the most part), and the temperatures are warming. Don’t you all just feel SO good? I know I do!
It feels like I’ve been super busy lately. I’m already half way through the semester and it’s just gonna snowball from here; but, I’m okay. It’ll all be over before I know it LOL. It’s also been a while since I’ve done an outfit post because I’ve been waiting for one that’s post worthy. If you’re anything like me, Spring/Summer is for locking yourself in your air conditioned house until October.
Once the temperatures goes up, you see less of me. My typical Spring/Summer outfits consist of a raggedy ol’ t-shirt and some old cheer shorts from my sophomore year of high school. If I ever have to see the light of day, I opt for a pair of jeans and a plain white tee. That’s appropriate, right?
Now, I’m faced with the challenge of putting together a Spring/Summer wardrobe. Not an easy task, but it’ll be fun.
Though people are dealing with dilemmas bigger than finding out who and what they are going to be during this warm weather season. I know, I know. Let me just go find myself a life.
Let’s get onto the outfit.
I thought this look was a bit “festival” like. Never have I been to a music festival, but I’m sure this would be acceptable. Except, if you read my last post, you’d know I probably wouldn’t last wearing these boots on uneven ground. You’d find me falling in holes and breaking my ankles! They’re still a stunning pair of boots and I really love that they have the lace up front. These are the boots I received for my birthday and they are by Michael Kors. Currently, they’re sold out everywhere in this cognac color, but they are available in a pretty deep brown and plum.
The piece I think really ties this whole outfit together is the green utility jacket. It’s from Old Navy and it’s light weight and perfect for the cool mornings and evenings during Spring. It hits slightly below my waist which is what I wanted since a lot of jackets like these are longer. There are large pockets on the front along with a drawstring waist that creates a great shape (no drowning in material here!). These types of jackets are a staple item because they are timeless and go with EVERYTHING! Old Navy is having a sale right now where you’ll get 30% off everything in store, including this jacket.
I’ve also worn these cutoffs many times before. They were my mom’s Levi’s that she cut for me and I included a similar pair that you can purchase from Urban Outfitters. You really can’t ever go wrong with a good pair of Levi’s shorts! My tank top is from Forever 21 and was only $10. It acts as a great base for an outfit since it’s solid white and of course can be worn with everything.
I hope you all liked this look! You can easily recreate it with items that you probably already have in your closet; But, if you want the exact pieces seen in this outfit, you can INSTANTLY shop them down below 🙂
