Treats for the Soul

Treats for the Soul

Everyone loves chocolate, right? If not, maybe you’re not getting it from the right place or maybe you’ve never tried Stafford’s Famous Chocolates. As briefly mentioned in my previous blog (here), I visited Stafford’s this past weekend. Located in downtown Porterville, CA, it was about an hour drive from where I live.

They’ve got a lot to choose from, ranging from chocolate and caramel covered apples, assorted chocolates, peanut brittle, moon pies, and so much more. The chocolates are practically art and they put a spin on tradition by being fearless with their concoctions (french lavender and Santa Ynez Valley Red Wine truffles, I mean?). They even serve coffee and other specialty drinks in their shop.

My mom and I purchased some chocolate covered almonds, a moon pie, and some ooey gooey bars. Ooey gooey bars are their house made marshmallows covered in chocolate, peanut butter and caramel. All of these items were nothing short of amazing.

I only wish we had a Stafford’s in my hometown or near my college campus. The bright and open interior would make for a good study spot. Would you look at the copper, brick, and marble detailing all around? Everything was so inviting and made me feel like I wanted to come back everyday and just chill there. Can you blame me? Not to mention, we were greeted and helped by a very pleasant employee by the name of Maddie. If you’ve got good customer service, you’ve got me as a customer for life!

I’ve got not doubt that I say this a lot, but it should definitely be a place for you to stop in and try. If you don’t live in the Central Valley, don’t worry because you can order online (here) and get it delivered to you.

I mean, chocolate is good for the soul, right?
