Bandana, Hobby Lobby| Top, H&M| Jeans, Flying Monkey| Booties, Steve Madden
If you can’t see it already, I wear a lot of black, white, and jeans. These three are super easy to style and there are plenty of ways to mix and match. I personally feel the most comfortable in a simple ensemble like this.
The bandana adds a twist to a plain shirt and it’s got so much variability! I had been wanting one for a while and was a little scared that I wasn’t going to be able to pull it off. Yes, I can be a pessimist sometimes but I get out of my head and remember that it’s a must to feel confident in what I’m wearing. When I wore this out, I was getting so many looks from everyone (or maybe they were wondering why I was wearing this in this hot weather?); but, I felt like a total badass. You can pretty much find a bandana anywhere. I found them in almost every color at Hobby Lobby for $1.29. Can you say bargain? I’ll be back to pick up a white one with a black print. Don’t wait like I did, you’ll regret not having added this to your stash of accessories earlier 🙂
I’d like to consider myself a bargain shopper. I hardly ever buy anything without doing thorough research on it because I want to get the most out of my money. My Flying Monkey Jeans were no exception. They are pricey, ranging from $56 to the mid $100s; BUT, I found these at Tillys for $14 on sale! You have no idea how ecstatic I was. I loooovveeee this brand of jeans because they fit perfectly. Shopping for jeans is such a hassle for me because I can never find any that fit my twiggy lower half. I’ve got tiny legs and a very small waist, so I always have the problem where the pant legs fit but the waist is two sizes too big. Also, the material always end up stretching to two sizes larger.
I came across these at a local boutique and instantly fell in love. They hug in all the right places, they provide good mobility, and they don’t stretch throughout the day! If you struggle from any of these problems, I’d really recommend trying this brand. They also carry them in store at Buckle if you’re like me and like to try your clothes on. The sale price went up a little from when I purchased them at Tillys, but they are still a steal.
Finally, my leather ankle booties from Steve Madden. I’m totally crazy about a good pointy toed ankle boot. Since I’m 5’2, the illusion of longer legs doesn’t hurt (although I’m completely comfortable with my shortness). They are super chic and can add some edge, too. When I purchased these earlier this year, I had been searching the web for a good pair. However, at the time, I just couldn’t get myself to drop $150 on them. THEN, I stumbled into a Marshall’s (which I rarely go into) and instantly, these caught my eye. They were $60! I about died. I took it as a sign (or a good excuse) to buy them. Moral of the story? Venture into places you don’t normally go because you never know what you’ll find.
Thanks for reading! If you have any questions or comments, feel free to leave them. They are always welcomed and appreciated 🙂
